The Island Flea Market Volunteer Sign Up

The Island Flea Market would not be possible without the help of our selfless volunteers. If you love our flea market, want to help make it a success, and get a sneak peak at all the goodies - this opportunity is for you!

We have several different activities for which we are seeking volunteers:

Set Up: Participants will bring in their goodies starting on August 7th through 17th. Starting on Monday, August 20th, we will start to organize everything so that it is displayed with like items, such as paper, stickers, stamps, punches, etc. This helps our shoppers find what they are looking for easier. This will require bending and lifting. Set up will happen on the following days:

Monday, August 20th
Tuesday, August 21st

Event Tasks: During the flea market, we need volunteers to help us write up customers tickets. This entails going through each item they are purchasing and writing down its 2 letter code and price. This is used to determine how much each customer owes, but also is very important to determine what is sold by each participant. This task requires patience dealing with crafty ladies buying many, many individual items and legible handwriting. Additional tasks would include bagging and straightening. We will need Task Assistants on the following days and times:

Friday, August 24th 4:45 pm to 8:30 pm
Saturday, August 25th 7:45 am to 4:15 pm
Sunday, August 26th 10:45 am to 3:15 pm

You do not have to commit to all day!!! On the sign up form you can indicate what times you are available.

Clean Up: Once the flea market is over, we need volunteers to help us get all the remaining goodies sorted back to each participant. This will require bending and lifting. Clean up will happen on the following days:

Sunday, August 26th 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Monday, August 27th
Tuesday, August 28th (if needed)

Training and Volunteer Preview Night: We will be having a training session for all volunteers on August 23rd from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. How do we train you? By helping the volunteers with their purchases! Yes, during this time all volunteers are invited to shop early!!
