2018 Summer Solstice Cleanup and Picnic 

Join EcoAction Arlington for our Summer Solstice event. Celebrate the longest day of the year with a chance to enjoy beautiful Bluemont Park for service projects and a social.

We will have several service options including invasive plant removal and trash pick up. We are also pleased to offer a chance to try plogging, the new fitness activity which combines running and picking up litter. (The word plogging is a combination of jogging and "plocka upp," Swedish for pick up where this trend started.) Thank you to Pacers for leading our plogging routes. No experience is necessary. We'll have instructions and supplies available. All are welcome including students.

There will be a picnic immediately following so stay for food and a chance to meet like-minded volunteers interested in the outdoors and conservation. We are asking for a donation of $5 for the picnic per person paid on site. There will be vegetarian food options available. Please register online OR at the event.

We will alert you at 4:00 p.m. if the event is cancelled due to thunder.
