"Delivering on the Army’s Modernization Priorities within the Missiles and Space Portfolio"
The purpose of the symposium is to provide an open forum to promote discussions and provide the latest information associated with current and future Army missile programs in a collaborative government, industry, and academia environment. The theme statement recognizes the significance of providing our Warfighters with timely missile and Space systems capability to meet the Army’s Modernization Priorities. The forum provides senior government and industry program managers, their staffs, and academia with many opportunities to meet and interact with their counterparts within the Army missile enterprise. In addition, the forum will allow industry leaders the opportunity to assess their IRAD programs in light of the Army’s S&T / Modernization focus and the PEO’s program direction with an eye toward win/win collaboration with their government customers.
The symposium is a one-day, unclassified event that will include briefings from key leaders plus four special topic panels. The morning sessions will include a User Community Panel titled "How will the requirements generation process change given the latest acquisition reform initiatives? How are we focusing on the Army’s modernization priorities?" followed by a Technology Panel titled “How will the S&T community adapt to current reform ensuring they identify technologies needed for quick transfer to meet Army modernization priorities?” The afternoon sessions will be compromised of an Industry Panel titled "What changes are needed in Acquisition for Industry to quickly respond to the Army modernization priorities?” and an Army PM Panel titled "What do PMs need from the User community, S&T community, and Industry to be responsive and provide capability in support of Army priorities?”. Our keynote speaker will be Mr. James Johnson, Deputy
Commanding General, United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command (SMDC/ARSTRAT).
The symposium will take place on Tuesday, 10 July 2018, in the North Hall of the Von Braun Center. Preceding the symposium on Monday, 9 July is an icebreaker reception/social at the Jackson Center at 5:00 p.m.
Online registration closes on July 2nd. Onsite registration will open on July 1oth at 7am.
