Your Instructor:  Mike Dulaney

Mike came to Cedar Rapids in 1975 with a construction permit for a new FM radio station that became Q-103 FM.  He had responsibility to put the station on the air, plan programming and  establish staff.  Then the group purchased existing AM station KLWW-AM in 1978, which then transitioned into KMRY-AM, still operating today.  The FM today is known as “Z-102.9”.

Mike had the responsibility to market equipment to radio stations in an 11 state area in the mid-west prior to coming to Cedar Rapids.   Duties for the new radio station included research of existing market and positioning the station in a highly competitive business.
