2018 CALPA Conference, Training, and Expo

Fostering Excellence, Park Leadership in the Golden State

Please join us at the 2018 CALPA Conference, Training and Expo, Fostering Excellence, Park Leadership in the Golden State, October 23 through October 26 in Folsom, CA near Sacramento.  The conference will be hosted at Lake Natoma Inn and will include Keynote Speakers, Workshops, Training, Vendor Expo and presentations that you need to increase the volume on developing leaders in your organizations to support California State Parks.  Sessions will be designed for nonprofit professionals, board members, volunteers, community leaders and California State Park staff.

Enjoy a full CALPA member meeting at the California State Railroad Museum on Tuesday afternoon followed by a train ride and opening reception sponsored by the California State Railroad Museum Foundation. The conference keynotes begin on Wednesday morning and the sessions and workshops continue through 5PM on Thursday, wrapped up with a silent auction and banquet on Thursday evening, all included with the single registration fee for park partners.  If you wish to bring a guest, you have the option of purchasing just a banquet place for those not attending the conference itself. Finally, optional field trips will take place on Friday, ending at 1PM. 

This will be a great event to bring your whole team, to learn, to interact with others on the same journey, and to be inspired by what they hear about what others are doing to support California's State Parks.   Group discounts from the same CALPA member group are available to encourage more of you to take part in these valuable sessions.  If you have younger team members, there is even a discounted rate for attendees 30 or under.  And save even more by registering before July 31 and qualifying for early bird registration rates.

The Lake Natoma Inn is located in historic Folsom, California. The hotel sits adjacent to Lake Natoma, part of Folsom Lake State Recreation Area, and is just a short walk to Folsom Powerhouse State Historic Park. 

Getting There: Free parking is available on-site. The light rail line is adjacent to the hotel, offering easy access to and from Downtown Sacramento. The hotel also sits along the renowned American River Bike Trail, for those who may want to commute via bicycle. In addition, camping is available at nearby Folsom Lake State Recreation Area, if you would prefer to camp or RV. CALPA has negotiated an early bird hotel rate of just $95 per room, plus tax and fees.
