9:40 - Visa's - Within the two main categories of visa’s there are almost 200 different types and the tax rules vary, Before tackling a non-US citizen tax return, find out where to start. The most common Visa types and varying tax filing obligations will be presented, including how to handle taxpayers with multiple visa types in the same calendar year. Forms 8843 and 8833 will be discussed. - Maria Van Den Bosch, EA

 10:50 - 1040NR line by line - An examination of the form and the reporting requirements. Learn everything in detail about the 1040NR. This is a practical walk through of every line as well as what flows in and out of form 1040NR. The deductions and credits are different than the 1040. - Neelu Johar, CPA, MST

 1:05 - Delinquent FBAR submission procedures are changing, again! The alphabet soup ingredients will be explored; FBAR, FINCEN, 2011 OVDI, 2012 OVDP, 2014 OVDP, Streamlined Compliance, FDSP, SDOP, SFOP, Reasonable Cause, Form 3520, and Quiet Disclosures. Find out which resolutions are the practice of law and not tax representation. - Neelu Johar, CPA, MST

2:20 - Tax ID's. Special emphasis on the ITIN and how credits apply to taxpayers and dependent children with and without ITIN's. Social Security Numbers, EINS and even ATIN's are discussed. Included in this session is also the NRA Spouse with no tax id. - John Warren, EA

Neelu Johar, CPA, MST has experience providing tax and consulting services to flow through entities, Subchapter S Corporations, LLCs and LLPs. She has structured business transactions and researched complex international and domestic tax issues for inbound and outbound transactions. Her accounting and MST degrees are from Bentley.

Maria Van den Bosch is an enrolled agent and owner of Van den Bosch Tax Consulting LLC. She has been a volunteer with VITA and the Boston Tax Help Coalition. Maria has a Tax Law degree from Leiden University (The Netherlands). Maria has specialized in helping foreign nationals with tax issues at her own company and at MYeCFO. Beside this work  she also works part time in the nonresident alien tax compliance department at a local university.

John Warren is an enrolled agent with four decades of tax experience. He has experience with Fortune 100 corporate and international tax software design and application development. He founded a fresh idea venture of an experienced tax professional consortium to serve the Medford area. He prepares individual, small business and non-profit tax returns. He is president of MASEA and an NPTI fellow.

CPE credits count toward fulfillment of the Continuing Professional Education requirements of the National Association of Enrolled Agents, the Massachusetts Society of Enrolled Agents and the Internal Revenue Service. Except education credits for state tax courses will not count toward IRS requirements under Circular 230.
