Please join us for lunch with Comptroller Glenn Hegar - chief accountant, revenue estimator, treasurer, check writer, tax collector, and procurement officer for the world's 10th largest economy - the state of Texas.
Elected in November 2014, Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar serves as Texas’ treasurer, check writer, tax collector, procurement officer and revenue estimator.
Hegar is a sixth-generation Texan, who grew up farming land that has been in his family since the mid-1800s. Before becoming Comptroller, Hegar served in the Texas House of Representatives and the Texas Senate, and also served as chair of the Sunset Advisory Commission, which works to eliminate inefficiency in government agencies.
Hegar attended Texas A&M as an undergraduate, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts. He then attended St. Mary’s University, earning a Master of Arts and his law degree. At the University of Arkansas, he earned a Master of Laws degree.
