East Ed & EdCo Webinar on Hiring for Diversity

Description

Join us to learn more about how to recruit and retain traditionally underrepresented faculty and staff at your school. Utilizing proven strategies as well as best practices, you will have the opportunity to reflect on your current process and to develop more effective strategies for thef uture.

While many schools have expressed interest in creating a more diverse pool of applicants and hiring traditionally underrepresented candidates, we are more successful when we work together as a cohort. This is an exciting time for EdCo schools to collaborate. We know that children’s achievement is connected to the quality of their relationships with their teachers. When children see people who look like them in positions of power and authority, they have a greater sense of school belonging and academic achievement improves.

Additional takeaways:

  • Matrix created by East Ed for analyzing your school’s current levels of diversity, e.g. racial/ethnic, gender identity/expression, years of experience, etc. to set goals and priority areas/departments
  • Workbook with the Five Phases of Hiring for Diversity
  • Digital library with resources focused on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in hiring
  • Networking for effective hiring
  • On-going partnership with East Ed as your school enhances its hiring process
