SCORE Boston Workshop:

CYBERSECURITY FOR SMALL BUSINESSES

The Better Business Bureau Cybersecurity program covers the most common ways in which scam artists, hackers, and identity thieves target businesses. We discuss the major "red flags" to be aware of and the ways in which business owners can best protect their own personal data and that of their employees and clients as well. Cybersecurity for your business is not only about adding layers of security technology. It starts with understanding and managing your cybersecurity risks. Our 5 steps to better business security, based on the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework, represent an approach that applies to the specifics of your business, helping you understand how best to identify and protect your business’s vital data and technology assets, and how to detect, respond to,and recover from a cybersecurity incident.

This workshop is sponsored by SCORE Boston and the Kirstein Business Library at the Boston Public Library.

It will be presented by Amy Schram. Amy has been with Better Business Bureau since 2011, serving as the Senior Community Relations Specialist. Her focus is to foster the business-to-consumer relationship and educate the public on BBB programs and services.
