Houston Urban Conservation Summit

The Houston Urban Conservation Summit will provide a unique opportunity to learn about the restoration, management, and monitoring of Houston's diverse ecosystems and wildlife!

8-8:45AM: Optional guided tour of Sheldon Lake and prairie restoration by TPWD Staff- Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early and bring comfortable walking shoes and a hat for this tour!

9AM: Session #1, Wetlands & Bayous

• Speakers: Jerry Hamby (Exploration Green) and Andy Sipocz (Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept.)

10AM: Session #2, Woodlands & Riparian

• Speakers: Kelli Ondracek (Houston Parks and Recreation Department), Jaime Gonzalez (The Nature Conservancy)

11AM: Session #3, Grasslands & Prairies

• Speakers: Shivas Amin (University of Saint Thomas), Carolyn White (Memorial Park Conservancy)

1PM-2PM: Session #4, Urban wildlife

• Speakers: Sarah Flournoy (Houston Audubon), Kelly Norrid (Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept.)
