Following Damaris Women's Retreat

 
Come "Follow Damaris" toward a more vital faith in a retreat setting where you will be introduced and reintroduced (like she was) to life-giving and God-glorifying means of imagining and experiencing God.


Cost:   $210.00 (includes 5 meals and housing in hotel type accomodations,
have your roommate requests ready!
*$30 EXTRA if you wish to have a private room.)

 OPTIONAL $8.00 for sack lunch to take for the drive home Sunday after worship.

  • **If you need assistance to fund your attendance, you might ask the Presbyterian Women of your congregation to see if they can sponsor your attendance.

     

    The Retreat begins Friday evening with registration from 5:00 -6:00 pm with dinner to follow and ends after worship Sunday morning. 

    Agenda includes:

    1. Movie Night with popcorn, (so bring your comfy PJs)
    2. Explore the God we have inherited and to whom we pray
    3. Explore and invite expanded capacity to know and experience God through sharing, creative arts, music and worship
    4. Ruth Davidson Hahn (who has collaborated with Mikhail Baryshnikov and Yo Yo Ma during her astounding dance career that continues in her work with people who suffer with Parkinson’s) will lead us in praying with our bodies (see rdhdance.org)
    5. Phileena Heuertz (who has worked with Mother Teresa and authored PILGRIMAGE OF A SOUL) will challenge and lead us to move beyond thinking about our spiritual life, to actually LIVING it  (see Phileena.com)
    • Rev. Kathleen Splitt, pastor of churches in Laurel and Belden, will lead us through the weekend as we “Follow Damaris” together.  Her participation in the Duke Leadership program “Foundations of Christian Leadership” resulted in the grant that made this retreat possible.
