SCORE Boston Workshop: Is Owning a Franchise Right For You?

Becoming a business owner is a major goal for many, but it can be difficult and risky to actually make it a reality. This workshop is designed to highlight the opportunities that the franchise business model offers to those looking to be their own boss, becoming financially independent, and having a strong support system to help them succeed.
In this two hour workshop, we’ll discuss how franchising works, how to research franchise opportunities, what makes a good franchise owner, and – everyone’s biggest question – how much money can you make in franchising? In addition to candid insights from an industry veteran, all attendees will receive a pre-formatted worksheet to help make their own projections.

This workshop is sponsored by SCORE Boston and the Kirstein Business Library at the Boston Public Library.

It will be presented by Eric Stites. Eric is the founder and CEO of Franchise Business Review, a leading franchise market research and consulting company specializing in franchisee satisfaction and performance. Franchise Business Review’s mission is to work with the very best franchisors and franchisees organizations to continuously improve performance. Stites designed the Franchisee Satisfaction Index (FSI), which has become the industry standard for measuring and benchmarking franchisee satisfaction. Stites is an active member of the International Franchise Association (IFA), serves on the IFA’s Franchise Relations Committee and speaks on topics related to franchise relations and best practices in franchising.
