AFP Vancouver Island AGM with special guest Vivian Smith, CFRE – June 13, 2018
Please join us at the AFP Vancouver Island AGM featuring special guest, Vivian Smith, CFRE.
Following lunch and official business, Vivian will present her session “Building the Board: Practical & Passionate Directors”.
Session Description
Gone are the days of the nominating committee; in its stead we find the Board’s governance committee. Acting as the coach for your Board, the goal of this committee is to enhance the Board’s performance by recruiting and developing the right players. These players must understand their duties and obligations while embracing a culture of philanthropy, first within the Board itself and then throughout the organisation. Learn about the role and value of the governance committee, how to build an effective governance committee and the emerging roles of a governance committee in building the Board you need for your non-profit to be successful.
