As members of the Mayor's Pedestrian Advisory Council (MPAC), the Consortium to Lower Obesity in Chicago Children (CLOCC), Active Transportation Alliance, AARP, and Lurie Children's Hospital's Injury Prevention and Research Center will convene a planning session with community-based organizations focused on neighborhood walkability strategies to support Vision Zero Chicago.
This meeting is open, however, attendees should meet the following criteria:
- Have an interest in learning about neighborhood walkability strategies and developing the capacity to partner with organizations to conduct walkability initiatives in their communities.
- Be located or working in a high crash area as identified by Vision Zero Chicago. This includes:

Tentative Meeting Agenda:
1) Brief Overview of Vision Zero in Chicago and the Vision Zero goals related to street and sidewalk infrastructure and driver behavior
2) Exploration of injury data available through Lurie Children’s Hospital, recommendations for analysis and dissemination
3) Sharing of walkability resources and tactics for engaging local communities in doing walkability work; Discussion on how to connect walkability work to the Vision Zero initiative
4) Discussion of federal, state, and local policy (current and future) that will have a negative or positive impact on walkability and accessibility and avenues for community partners to build an advocacy base
