General Information:

The Graham County Leadership for Sustainable Communities Cohort announces a Shark Tank event to be held November 1, 2018 with $20,000 in cash and prizes to help businesses start or scale-up. Conducted in partnership with EAC Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and in collaboration with Local First Arizona, the event offers entrepreneurs opportunity to sharpen their acumen and develop robust business plans to pitch to local sharks at the Safford Center for the Arts. The program will mimic the popular “Shark Tank” television series and seeks to celebrate and reward entrepreneurship in Graham County.

How to enter:

Entrepreneurs may enter the Shark Tank competition by one of two tracks:

  • Completing forthcoming business trainings to be conducted by the SBDC or
  • By being a graduate of DreamBuilder - the Women’s Business Creator. DreamBuilder is a free online learning program offered by Freeport-McMoRan in partnership with the Thunderbird School of Global Management and Bluedrop Performance Learning. It was developed for women who want to start or grow their own small business and may be completed at your own pace as it is available at any time to anyone, anywhere with web access.

Details:

  • SBDC Workshops will be on August 9th, August 23rd, September 13th, September 27th, October 4th and October 11th
  • Attendance at a minimum of five sessions is required 
  • October 11th session is a mandatory session
  • Up to three participants per business may enroll
