We’ve all got a slouchspot - that space between our shoulder blades that rounds when we slump at a computer station, get very involved in a text or just feel lazy and want to collapse.

This slouchspot is also the back of the heart and the root of the neck so how we connect with this often neglected area has profound repercussions for our structural alignment, emotional health, outward appearance and overall well-being. As this is a part of thebody that we can’t see with our eyes, it can be challenging to envision, understand and access.

In this 2-hour workshop, we will explore how asana can help us to De-Slouch. Through thoughtful and playful movement, we will bring awareness and vision to the slouchspot. We will practice ways to help develop habits to keep the back, front and sides of ourhearts open and supple. We will explore how creating more awareness in this part of the body enhances our experience of yoga asana as well as optimizes our movements in everyday life.

Sandra Razieli (www.raziyoga.com) originally came to yoga in 1997 after many years of frustration trying to find a way to ease pain associated with her scoliosis. She quickly discovered that asana practice not only helped her feel better in her body but also was great training for her mind and inspirational for her spirit. Sandra has been a certified Yoga Instructor since 2001 and her home base is currently in Maui. While her teaching manner tends towards the playful, she is very serious about teaching careful alignment for long-term safety and wellness.
