The Center for Autism Research is hosting a "give spit and get fit" event for families who wish to participate in the SPARK study on July 15th.
SPARK is the first of it's kind genetic study of autism. We need to enroll 50,000 trios (individuals with autism and both biological parents) to help us learn everything we can about autism spectrum disorder.
Join us for a live on-site SPARK registration event and stay for the fitness and nutrition related activities! For more information on SPARK, click here! Do not join online if you plan to attend in person. Both parents required for participation.
Participation involves an online registration and saliva kit completion. Participants will receive information on any genetic findings and receive an Amazon gift card!
Registration Required!
After completing SPARK families will also be able to stay for crafts, snacks & gather resources on:
- Autism-friendly sports leagues
- CHOP's Healthy Weight clinic
- Debunking diet myths
Families will also have the chance to talk one on one with our social worker, Susannah Horner.
But that's not all! We're even going to have our fitness friends provide fun activities to keep us moivin' including:
- FREE Yoga sessions (no experience required)
- FREE Gym Activities from We Rock the Spectrum
We Rock the Spectrum provides children with a fun and motivational environment to help them in the areas of strength, movement, sensory processing, communication, positive behavior modification, social interactions, and self-care skills.
