Reptile® and Black Letter Law - a CLE Seminar - July 27, 2018

Featured Speakers

William Sykes, Esq. and Matt Granda, Esq. of Claggett & Sykes Law Firm Matt Granda William Sykes

Course Description

The “Reptile” method is a collection of trial strategies that has taken the Plaintiff’s trial bar by storm across the country. It has been the source of numerous motions in limine in Nevada courts, with civil plaintiffs’ attorneys filing motions to permit certain aspects of the strategy and civil defense attorneys filing motions in limine to exclude the strategy altogether. What is “The Reptile” method?  And what does the black letter law say about the method’s more common strategies? We will discuss fundamental principles of tort law, the art of trial advocacy, and the science of persuasion. Most importantly we will discuss the black letter law as it applies to various elements of the Reptile method. Foreseeability, standards of care, industry standards, and the underlying functions of tort law will be addressed.
