Program Sneak Peak
Work, Worth, and Wonder: The Role of Employment in Recovery: Work does not determine our worth. But it can be one of the greatest recovery-enhancers around, giving us a wonderful sense of purpose and joy. Some of us may have people in our lives who have doubted our abilities to do meaningful work, and we may even pick up on some of those beliefs ourselves. This workshop spotlights one recovery story about defying predictions, rising to our own expectations, and attempting to be patient and kind to ourselves along the way.
One Person, One Recovery: Treatment systems often refer to those of us who live with both substance and mental health challenges using various labels: Dual Recovery. Co-Occurring. MICA. Even “Double Trouble”. This panel moves beyond the labels to share what it really feels like to walk this road and create our own wellness, often navigating two systems that don’t communicate very well. Roles of Peer Recovery Coaches will also be explored.
