1. Large group interactive presentation and demonstration
2. Individual Mixed Reality experience of anatomy models
3. Large group discussion of application of virtual and mixed reality in healthcare education
Goals:
- Review differences between full virtual reality and mixed reality
- Summarize benefits of MR and VR in Healthcare education
- List 3 potential applications of MR/VR in healthcare education
Preparation:
Consider the following questions:
- What are the disadvantages of using cadavers for anatomy education?
- Is the anatomy learned in cadaver lab useful for future surgeons?
- What educational outcomes do we hope to achieve by teaching anatomy (e.g. anatomy of the nervous system)? What are the best methods for achieving those outcomes?
