This workshop is designed for a small group to receive instruction and hands-on assistance in using your Quickbooks accounting program. The emphasis will be on QB Online for those using the Essentials version or higher. You must bring your laptop or tablet with your QuickBooks program. We strongly recommend you have attended our “Accounting for Small Businesses” workshop as a prerequisite to attending this workshop and have some working experience with your business’ QuickBooks. QuickBooks features addressed in future workshops may vary. The QuickBook features addressed for this workshop will be:
- Company Set Up
- Chart of Accounts
- Downloading bank and credit card transactions
- Creating:
- Customers, vendors, employees, products/services and classes
- Financial Reports
The group size is limited to 12 attendees and there will be 3 SCORE counselors who will all be actively involved in the hands-on training. We will speak to the above 5 features and if we have time we will add a session on budgeting.
Because of the variety of businesses that may be in attendance, we won’t be able to be industry specific. However, we do believe the agenda that is being presented will be relevant to everyone.
A few things to note:
- We ask that you arrive at 9 am so that you have time to sign on and get connected to the internet. We will begin promptly at 9:30.
- Since we are limiting the number of attendees to 12, if you need to cancel, please give us a 72 hour notice so that we can give someone else the opportunity to attend. If the workshop is closed when you go to register, you may email gloria.spence@scorevolunteer.org to get on the waiting list. You must be registered for this workshop - no walk-ins will be admitted.
- The workshop will run from 9am – 3pm with a break for lunch on your own. We can provide recommendations for lunch in the area.
We are looking forward to working with you as you try to navigate through your QuickBooks software. We know it can be challenging and hope that this workshop will help you have a better understanding of your financials.
