The Fortress of the Mother:

A One Day Durga Immersion with Rachel

Durga is often referenced as being the Mother; the fiercest fortress of compassion; the embodiment of strength and courage. While she is all of those things, the depth of relationship we connect to through her practices is much more. Durga is the Shakti that defeats the ego, the ahamkara: that structure of consciousness that works to convince us we are separate, only for us to recognize we are in union with everything. Durga comes to fortify and support our subtle energies, burning through our karma, so that we can do our work of liberation in the world.
In this one day immersion, we will meet Durga through both her Vedic and Sri Vidya mantras. We will begin learning the basics of the Devi Mahatmyam, or Chandi Path: a text that delineates Durga's defeat of the ego. We will take some time to dive into a simple asana practice, embodying this energy of strength and integrity, to shift our movement patterns to what supports us rather than what does not. We will end with a beautiful yoga nidra practice that incorporates our newfound connection to Durga. We will discover how to construct a sadhana outside our immersion, to continue this relationship resource with Durga.
This is a perfect immersion for anyone looking to deepen their practice; anyone looking to begin Sri Vidya practice; anyone looking to reconnect to sadhana; anyone looking to connect to higher consciousness.
