Keeping It Light: Fresh Summer Salads

with Mary Hammerstein

Summer Salad Are you looking to eat well without the anxiety that often accompanies meal preparation? Kripalu yoga teacher and cooking program assistant Mary Hammerstein will introduce strategies for mindful eating and basic cooking efficiency while offering healthy recipes that will keep you out of the kitchen in order to enjoy summer. Learn about hearty salads, using seasonal ingredients, which can be prepared ahead and packed away for a day at the beach or an afternoon picnic. Explore proteins that may be added, turning each salad into a meal. Recipes may include Quinoa Citrus Salad Tabouleh, Greek Kale Salad, Watermelon Salad, Thai Vegetable  Slaw, Chopped Vegetable Salad, Peppy Corn and Avocado Relish, Fennel and Cranberry Salad, Insalata Caprese, Roasted Bell Pepper with Herbs Salad. Wine tasting to compliment menu.
