Economics of Health Care

Help Your Students Become

EDUCATED VOTERS

As a teacher, you have the most important job in our country because you inspire people to think critically and have a positive impact on the world. Voices On The Economy (VOTE) is a Tucson-based, award-winning program that teaches educators to present diverse perspectives in a fair, balanced, accurate way so that students can make up their own minds about what they believe and find their own voices on the issues.

Join us for a one-day workshop that will delve into the issue of Health Care, looking at it from the Conservative, Liberal, and Radical perspectives. What are their different policy ideas? (Third-party payers? Fee for service? The Affordable Care Act? Single-payer options?) How does each perspective analyze the problem? Hands-on exercises will bring the material alive, and we will provide you with lesson plans and other materials so you can bring these ideas back to your classrooms.

No previous knowledge of economics is required. Appropriate for all subject areas and all levels of educators from middle school through university. Earn 6 free credits for Professional Development.

The mission of Voices On The Economy (VOTE) is to inspire solutions to our nation’s urgent economic problems by building a culture of respectful listening, passionate advocacy, and intelligent debate.

$25 registration fee includes 6 hours of professional development and lunch
