2018 AROOSTOOK COUNTY MEETING

"Investing in Maine's Future through Education"

MBTA is pleased to announce a distinguished Association member as the evening speaker for our 2018 Aroostook County meeting.  Sam Collins has been a member of the University of Maine System Board of Trustees since 2010 and recently completed his term as Board Chair.  He has long held leadership roles in advocating for education, having served on the Caribou School Board, and as co-chair of the Regional School Committee for school consolidation, which resulted in a successful union of three school units.  

As president of S.W. Collins Company in Caribou for three decades, Sam has spearheaded the company's expansion from one location to five building material hardware stores, a kitchen and bath design center and a millwork shop. He is also a partner in two real estate development companies. 

Sam is passionate about community service and is a past chair of the United Way of Aroostook Campaign, past President of Leaders Encouraging Aroostook Development, and past President of the Caribou Rotary Club.

Also on August 2, Craig Manufacturing, a manufacturer of construction equipment attachments, is hosting any interested MBTA members for lunch and a tour of its factory in Hartland, New Brunswick. See how various products are built at this MBTA member plant, located about 45 minutes from Presque Isle (Address: 96 McLean Avenue, Hartland, New Brunswick).  Tour will end at 2 pm.  Please note that Atlantic time is one hour ahead of Eastern Standard Time.  The tour includes lunch, compliments of Craig Manufacturing.   RSVP required.
