Orvis-NYC Event: Guest Tom Rosenbauer presents on taking your trout fishing to the next level!

Please join us at Orvis 5th Avenue on August 2, at 6 p.m., as we welcome Orvis’ own Tom Rosenbauer for his presentation, “How to take your trout fishing to the next level”.  Tom’s name is familiar to fly anglers all over the world, which is understandable given his significant contributions to the sport, spanning several decades and including numerous instructional films, publications, and presentations to angling groups.  Tom has worked with the Orvis Company for over four decades in various capacities, including (but not limited to) fishing school instructor, public relations director, copywriter, merchandise manager, marketing manager for Orvis Rod and Tackle, and editor of The Orvis News.  Tom was awarded the Angler of the Year Award by Fly Rod & Reel in 2011 for the content that he has made available to anglers through podcasts, books (over twenty published), and magazine articles (appearing in a lengthy list of prominent angling periodicals).

Few anglers are able to spend the amount of time on the water that they would like, making the already precious commodity of time all the more valuable.  As anglers, we may not measure success by the number of fish hooked or landed, however we are, realistically, out there to land fish (and hopefully release them, safely).  Tom’s presentation is, in a broad sense, geared to improving the angler’s rate of hookup, enabling more of the precious time with fly rod in hand to be spent connected to a trout.  This presentation is a companion to Tom’s book, Fly Fishing for Trout: The Next Level, which we carry at the store.

Please rsvp to usfmgr065@orvis.com if you plan to attend.  We’ll have refreshments, and copies of several of Tom’s books on hand for purchase and signing.  Please consider stopping by the store on a date prior to the 2nd if you’d like to pick up some of Tom’s work, so that, following his presentation, you can be better prepared with questions about your own fishing.
