Breaking barriers with small steps- having a long term vision is critical for success.
 Goal Setting: Step by Step

A few months ago, my junky, cluttered garage started to really bug me. I couldn't walk in there for fear of falling over a light saber or a chain saw. I couldn't park my car in there, which made me mad every time I was scraping windows on frosty mornings. And I just know my hip neighbors who put up a seasonal wreath every season and actually edge their lawns were looking askance any time my kids or husband left the garage door up. Finally, it bothered me enough that I had to have a solution- I could either toss a match on the whole pile and blame it on the dog for playing with matches or I could get busy and work out a plan for whipping this garage into shape. Being a persistent cuss and a born-planner, I worked out a plan and made it happen. And I'm going to share that process and a few other stories at the Lunch and Learn.

If you're like me and you have a junky, cluttered garage that needs some attention, or you have a weighty challenge at work that you just have to master or maybe you have 15 pounds that you want to lose so badly, but you just can't get there, you need to join me for lunch and work on some goal setting. Now before you roll your eyes, I make you three promises:

1. We're going to laugh a lot and have some fun.

 2. This will not be a textbook lecture on how goals should be measurable, achievable, etc. We'll talk about practical problem solving that creates results.

 3. You will leave with a fresh perspective on that nagging issue that needs attention but keeps getting put off.

Acclaimed author, inspirational speaker Brian Tracy says, "Goals allow you to control the direction of change in your favor." Who is ready to set some goals and make something happen with me?
