PARENTS

If we don't lead them, who will?  As the parent of kids who were once collegiate athletes I know all too well the push we have for our kids to do well in sports with hopes of scholarships or even professional superstardom. But face it, hoop dreams are often just that.  Two of my athletes traded Division One and Division Three Sports for careers in law and medicine. Not too bad actually.

We have to prepare our kids to be successful in an array of areas.  I AM ABEL FOUNDATION'S goal is to change the narrative within our Chicago area communities - one kid at a time.

There is an incredible need for minorities in medicine to tackle the massive physician shortage anticipated for 2025.  Many kids do not believe they are capable of doing the work, especially our young boys. There are many reasons for this fallacy but there are also several solutions and I AM ABEL FOUNDATION is doing our part to raise up the next generation of leaders, innovators, researchers, physicians and HEALTHCARE HEROES.  WHY? Because they are needed!  Why else? Because its a GREAT job and a GREAT profession!  Black men are becoming instinct in medicine.  Let's teach our boys that they CAN become physicians if they want to and let's show them how. We need them.

This tournament was especially created with our young men of color in mind.  So come join us for a crazy fun Sunday where are young boys can see black and brown male physicians who are totally cool and relatable and can teach you about their profession after a fun game of 3 on 3.  Our docs are putting down the stethescope and scapel to spend some one on one time with our precious young men.  We want our boys to know that Medicine is NOT just for nerds.  Medicine is for amazing, talented and bright young men -- JUST LIKE YOUR SON.

Are you in?  Register your son or a child that you love now!
