About the Instructor: Patrick M. Joyce

Private pilot since 2005 with approximately 200 hours of time as solo or pilot-in-command.  Owned and operated a private aircraft for approximately 5 years (N502PW).  He currently have a Part 107 certificate for operation of commercial drones.

He was part of the U.S. AIR FORCE for 6 years from July 1971 – December 1977 Staff Sergeant (E5), specialty 70250 Administrative Specialist. He went on two tours of duty in Thailand during the Vietnam War, at Takhli and Nakhon Panom.  Stationed three years in Aviano, Italy where he finished an Associate Degree.  Along the way, he received the Good Conduct Medal and Wartime Service Medal.

His most recent focus was the Saftey and Training Coordinator from December 1, 1987 – Retired June 30, 2009 -  (22.5 years) of the City of Fort Lauderdale where he personally conducted programs with over 800 employees in the Utilities, Public Works, and Parks departments for the purpose of workplace safety, preparedness, and security.
