Invite You to Participate in a Civil Discourse Workshop on Immigration
Coming to America: Who Should we welcome? What should we do?

The cost is $10 to cover materials & refreshments.
Negative, destructive and confrontational approaches to communicating seems to be the norm today, creating division and inhibiting practical problem solving in our country. A major issue seems to be immigration – how, who and when. The Civil Discourse movement is aimed at reviving civility in our public discourse and addresses the need to change the tone of our current politics.
We invite our League members and community members to experience how to talk WITH each other about this key issue. Our workshop leaders are Judi Pogue and Marieann Shovlin of LWV Cupertino/Sunnyvale. The Leagues of Women Voters of Santa Clara County and San Mateo County Leagues are co-sponsoring this workshop and cordially invite all interested community members to this event.
We Will Learn:
This workshop will include interactive exercises, role playing, and is based on a topic that impacts us all.
Child care with special child-friendly activities on communication skills provided. Childcare only available for ages 2-12 at $20 per child.
