Please join the Minnesota Alliance on Crime on September 6 and 7, 2018 for two days of strategizing, learning, sharing, and networking to go above and beyond our work in advancing rights and services for crime victims in Minnesota. This year's theme, Expand the Circle, reflects MAC's efforts, based on the needs of our membership, to build our members' capacity to serve all victims of crime in Minnesota.

MAC Annual Membership Meeting: Thursday, September 6, 2018, 8:30 am to noon
The Membership Meeting will provide members and allies the opportunity to learn more about the strategic work MAC staff and board are currently engaged in and provide direct feedback that will shape MAC's initiatives moving forward. Members will also be tasked with ratifying changes to MAC's bylaws and the presented slate of candidates for the Board of Directors.

Spotlight Award Lunch: Thursday, September 6, 2018, noon to 1:00 pm.
During a special recognition lunch, we will award the Spotlight Award to a MAC member who is truly making a difference for crime victims with their innovative work.

Capacity Building Training: Thursday, September 6, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., and Friday, September 7, 2018, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Over a day and a half, participants will hear directly from victims/survivors and experts in the victim services field who will provide critical training on "gray area thinking," working effectively with tribal communities, and strengthening rights for the victims we serve. We will also offer valuable time for regional networking/collaboration.

MAC has been approved for CLE 7 credits, including 3 Elimination of Bias for the training portion of the event.

Silent Auction
MAC will hold a benefit silent auction on Thursday, featuring fantastic gifts, travel packages, and more! If you have an item or service you'd like to donate to MAC, please email Julia Tindell at julia@mnallianceoncrime.org. The donation deadline is August 15th.

MAC Member Program Travel Reimbursement
Due to MAC's VOCA training grant having sunsetted and a delay in the release of the next funding cycle, MAC's funds for travel reimbursement are more limited that usual. Despite this situation, we want to support the participation of our voting member programs to attend this event! MAC will provide the following travel reimbursement to our voting member programs:

  • Up to $100 of mileage reimbursement for one vehicle per organization traveling more than 200 miles roundtrip.
  • Reimbursement for one hotel room at the Holiday Inn Express Inver Grove Heights (at MAC's group rate of $92.00 per night) for one night for each program traveling more than 200 miles roundtrip to the training. You must make your hotel reservation yourself by August 20, 2018. See below for more information.

To receive travel reimbursement, you must attend the Annual Meeting on Thursday, September 6.

Reimbursements will be made to member organizations, not individuals. MAC will reimburse members after the Annual Meeting. Please be sure to save all relevant receipts. MAC voting member organizations must have renewed their FY19 membership to receive travel reimbursement.
