Cancellations / Refunds Policy

Payment is due on, or before, the scheduled session. Cancellations must be received seven (7) calendar days prior to a seminar date; if you already paid in full, a full refund will be provided. If you need to cancel within the seven calendar days prior to a seminar and you already paid, you will not receive a refund however you may defer your payment towards a future seminar. Please note that we need to adhere to our policy in order to offer our members quality training sessions and to help us plan for seminar expenses (room/food).

Information Technology Governance

Ineffective IT Governance often leads to business frustration with escalating IT costs, failed IT initiatives, non-compliance with regulatory requirements, and IT service delivery problems. This program is designed to heighten your knowledge of Information Technology Governance using common business language and understand the essential elements of a sound IT Governance program.

Session Description:  

By the end of our course attendees will gain a broad base understanding of IT Governance and how to incorporate IT Governance components into every audit engagement.

 Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the key elements required for an effective enterprise IT Governance program
  • Develop an IT Governance program that meets regulatory requirements
  • Build a change management strategy to transition to enterprise IT Governance

Speaker Bio:  Mary G. Siero

Mary is Senior Instructor for MISTI. She is an executive level Information Technology Consultant and the President of Innovative IT, a Las Vegas based information technology consulting firm. She has over 30 years’ experience in engineering and technology from industries such as Healthcare, Government, Gaming and Hospitality, Consumer Products, Manufacturing and Education.

Mary’s career includes  ten years in healthcare as a Chief Information Officer and five years in the gaming industry as Vice President of IT Operations, both heavily regulated industries.

She is active in the information system security community and has provided testimony on the record for the State of Nevada Information Technology Board regarding The Current and Future Cyber Threat.  She routinely presents at national conferences on information technology topics and holds several professional IT security certifications.

She is a Charter Member of the FBI Citizen’s Academy Alumni Association in Las Vegas, the Cybersecurity Program Committee Chair for the Las Vegas Chapter of the Society for Information Management (SIM),  and is a member in good standing of the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2, the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) , the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA),  Southern Nevada InfraGard Members Alliance ,and Toastmasters.

She is a graduate of the University of Detroit with a Master’s Degree in Polymer Chemistry and a graduate of Michigan State University where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry.
