This is an 8 hour, live fire course designed to hone fundamental patrol rifle manipulation skills and combine those with small team or patrol pair cover and movement tactics, allowing students to experience how those concepts interact in a series of shooting exercises designed to enhance an officer’s ability to apply the patrol rifle as a tactical problem solving tool. Students will practice primary to support side shooting transitions, shooting from various cover positions, malfunction management, rifle to pistol transitions, multi-directional movement and shooting, and close-quarters tactics. This course is POST approved for 8 hours of Skill Development. Students will need to bring their own duty rifles, pistols and gear. Ammunition requirements are 500 rifle and 100 pistol.
