This course is the 1-DAY TRAQ RENEWAL course for people who currently hold the TRAQ credential and are up for their 5-year renewal.

Current TRAQ holders may complete the TRAQ Renewal Course (or the Full 3-day Course if desired) as early as 18 months prior to your expiration date. An extension past your expiration date will NOT be available. Once passing the renewal exam, your expiration date will be updated 5 additional years from your original expiration date.

Does your TRAQ credential expire between November 27, 2018 and  and May 26, 2020? You are eligible to attend a renewal class.

This TRAQ RENEWAL class and exam is is limited to 30 arborists (first-come/first-served). The 1-day event consists of a 5-hour educational review class followed by a 3-hour exam that includes both a written and field component. It is required that you attend the review class and successfully complete the assessment in order to renew your TRAQ qualification. Your ISA TRAQ credential will then be valid for another five years from the expiration date of your original TRAQ credential. The qualification holder is required to take the course and pass the exam every five years in order to maintain the qualification.

All prerequisites for registering will be reviewed and your registration will be confirmed via email.

Registration will be on a first-come-first-serve basis. Space is limited to 30 people. In order to register at the Member Price you MUST be a member of ISA International OR the  Florida Chapter ISA.

Registration closes at midnight on October 27, 2018 (or when filled).

Cancellation Policy: A processing fee of $50 USD will be charged for all cancellations received on or before October 27, 2018. Cancellations after October 27, 2018 will not be refunded.

What to do now?

  • Read the TRAQ application handbook. During the registration process you will be asked to agree to the terms and conditions in the handbook; if you do not agree with them you cannot take the course and exam. Find the handbook at: http://www.isa-arbor.com/certification/resources/TRAQHandbook.pdf
  • Complete your registration (first come, first served) Online registration link is below, or fax your form to 941-342-0463. Mailing in your registration will take longer and the class might fill before we receive it in the mail.

  • course registration
  • exam fee
  • the 2nd edition TRAQ renewal manual (shipped via UPS to the address you provide (NO PO BOXES)
  • the TRAQ renewal workbook (handed out at the class)
  • coffee and breakfast items, beverages and snacks for the day, and lunch

Travel and lodging is on your own.

What is required to bring to the class:
 - your government issued photo ID
 - your TRAQ Manual (shipped  via UPS to the physical address you provide - NO PO BOXES);
   your TRAQ Workbook will be handed out at the class

 - your hard hat and high visiblity vest or shirt (required)
 - #2 pencils for taking the text, taking notes and completing worksheets
 - rain gear, including a large ziplock bag (just in case!)

come prepared to spend part of the day outdoors
 -
please dress for your comfort level indoors and outdoors;
    we cannot always control the room
temperature to suit everyone

Meet the Instructor:

  • Norm Easey
    Norm Easey is CEO of the Florida Chapter ISA and has a special interest in sharing his tree knowledge; he is a familiar face at the chapter seminars as moderator, speaker and administrator. Most recently Norm served for 4 years on a panel of industry experts that created the ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) credential.

An Overview:

This TRAQ RENEWAL course is a full 1-day event for arborists who currently hold the TRAQ credential and are approaching their 5-year renewal.

You will attend a review session of Tree Risk Assessment with Norm Easey , a seasoned TRAQ instructor. Norm will provide a brief  review of the ISA Tree Risk Assessment Manual accompanied with workbook activities.This 1-day event will consist of 5 hours of review instruction with the instructor plus the 3 hour exam with indoor and outdoor components. You will review:
   -   Levels of assessment
   -   Target assessment
   -   Site assessment
   -   Tree biology and mechanics
   -  Tree inspection and assessment
   -   Data analysis and risk categorizaion
   -   Mitigation
   -   Reporting
