Back to the Future - "Where we're going we don't need roads!" - Wed 8/8/18

Registration Deadline:  Sunday, 8/5/18 at 11:59 PM

Back to the Future – “Where we’re going we don’t need roads!”

The FM Professional of the Future is a leadership based FM, who is a part of the ownership’s C-Suite,   who speaks the language of the owner, and who can dramatically increase value. FMs and service providers  must operate in an environment of automation, information systems, and high performance. Are you ready for this future where the FM Professional will have to be able to identify and utilize the expertise of the FM associates?

“Your future hasn’t even been written yet.  No one’s has.  Your future is whatever you make it, so make it a good one.” -  Doc Brown

Join in this educational and interesting session where you will learn how all stakeholders must create transparency, use the language of metrics, and minimize the humanistic concepts of decision making and control of others. This “FM of the Future” model has been tested for the past 25 years with very high performance. The FM of the Future also includes the ability to increase the value and quality of life for all stakeholders. It also is a portal to the next generation FMs who do not have the time or experience of the FMs of today.

Our Speaker: Dean T. Kashiwagi, PhD, PE, IFMA Fellow

A thought leader in the facilities management, procurement, project management, and supply chain industries for more than three decades. He is also a respected adviser and mentor within IFMA. Dean has received numerous awards for the implementation of the best value approach that includes how an entire country (the Netherlands government) changed their model in buying not only construction, but professional services as well. He is credited with establishing best value programs at six different universities around the world. This includes receiving a Fulbright Scholar award to share state-of-the-art best value procurement model and project management research/practices for the people of Botswana, Africa. Dean’s groundbreaking best value approach [model for the future] was integrated into a graduate program and put into practice at ASU for outsourcing food services. The results at ASU led to an investment of $100 million first of its kind and the vendor is still surpassing their milestone goals for the University.
