Fall Connection

Therapeutic Challenges of Clinical Dental Hygiene

8-12pm

Please join us and other dental hygienists from your community as we meet to learn, share, and problem solve together.  Participants will engage in facilitated conversations to help foster professional friendships, learn new strategies and support one another!

Together let's develop solutions for our most frequent and frustrating clinical challenges.  We will review topics like time efficiency, instrument management, medical considerations and treatment planning.  In the process, we will learn ways to make our days less stressful, more efficient, and have the tools necessary to navigate even the most puzzling dental challenges!

At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:

  • Assess the biggest stressors of their day
  • Determine time management based on patient assessment and care
  • Gain an understanding of the protocols and treatments for periodontal medicine
  • Review medical considerations, premed needs, and wait times for dental care
  • Select appropriate instruments for specific treatment and tooth anatomy
  • Navigate the doctor exam
  • Learn how to more effectively communicate and present treatment needs, helping patients find value in their treatment
  • Review dental hygiene CDT codes and accurate reporting
  • Recommend appropriate therapeutic aids/home care products
