The Dynamic Stillness: A Shiva One Day Immersion

w/ Rachel

Saturday, September 15

Cost: $60

Shiva is often referenced as the destroyer; the totality of consciousness; the stillpoint in all of existence. While he is all of those things, the depth of relationship we connect to through his practices is much more. Shiva is the void from which all of consciousness manifests; his desire to know his own immensity is everything begins. Shiva gives us the possibility of identifying with the perceiver rather than the perceived. We are able to center ourselves inward again; integrating our projections and our boundaries into the space of totality. Therein lies a simplistic yet expansive awareness; the ease of knowing again that we are the divine.
In this one day immersion, we will meet Shiva in many forms. We will work with his simplest and most profound mantras; and nyasas and pranayama to integrate them. We will work with his mantra as healer; the Maha Mrityunjaya mantra, known to heal the suffering of the world. We will take some time to explore an asana practice that is as simple as it is expansive; integrating our relationship to this higher consciousness. We will work with the Rudrastakam, a text of devotion to Shiva in his fierce incarnation as Rudra. We will discover how to construct a sadhana outside our immersion, to continue this enlightening relationship with Shiva.

This is a perfect immersion for anyone looking to deepen their practice; anyone looking to begin Sri Vidya practice; anyone looking to reconnect to sadhana; anyone looking to connect to higher consciousness.
