This year's Fall Event topic--

"Environmental footprint of beef: what it is and how consumer choices might change this…for better or worse?”

Environmental footprint of many agricultural commodities is under scrutiny from consumers, retailers and special interest groups. Producers are looking to researchers to provide accurate science-based information of the impact of their industry on the environment, improvements that are made over time and strategies to increase consumer confidence...can the industry meet expectations? Manitoba researchers are playing a leading role in determining the environmental footprint of the Canadian beef herd and understanding consumer expectation – join them on their journey in answering this question.

Dr. Kim Ominski, P.Ag., Professor, University of Manitoba will lead the presentation with Dr. Getahun Gizaw, P.Ag., Research and Development Specialist-Livestock, Manitoba Agriculture.
