Leadership Design Academy

The Leadership Design Academy  is a unique “design thinking” experience for school or district teams. The Academy is a great fit for leadership teams who are looking to move beyond getting started and want to take personalized learning to the next level.

Teams will:

• Reflect on their current context and shape their team’s vision for personalized learning
• Transform the vision into a strategic action plan based on a customized entry point
• Utilize a 6-step transformational leadership process to ensure quality implementation
• Establish achievement milestones and learner look fors to drive iteration
• Refine their action plan as part of a coaching and feedback process
• Intentionally move their personalized learning work toward expansion and systemic change
• Learn from and contribute to a powerful network

The Academy process places the learner at the center. By following the Institute's change strategy, transformational leadership efforts will focus on the intentional alignment of the personalized learning elements in direct correlation to the primary goals of personalized learning. Through this process, teams will move an idea from getting started to implementation and position the work as part of a system-wide change.

Year 1: Getting Started/Design/Implementation/Revision

• Initial phone call introductory meeting
• 2-day design session (October 17-18, 2018)
• 2 benchmark sessions throughout the year (November, 2018 and February, 2019)

Fee is $2800 per year for a team of up to 8 participants ($3,000 for Non-Institute member districts). (Additional people can be added to the team for $280/$300 person.)

The Leadership Design Academy is based on a two year cycle. The Year Two timeline will parallel the activities of Year One. Registration for Year Two will be available at a later date. 

Year 2: Revision/Expansion/Systemic Change

• 2-day design session
• 2 full cohort sessions
