The time is now to take control of diabetes!
Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (DEEP) workshops are held once a week for 2 hours over a course of 6 weeks. During the workshop, participants:
- learn how diabetes and pre-diabetes affects the entire body
- understand diabetes risk factors and complications and how to control them
- learn about and manage diabetic medications
- develop nutritional education and meal planning skills
- develop skills to better communicate with their health care team to manage diabetes
