My name is Jen Crossley I’m a mixed media artist from Australia. I have been teaching for over 20 years, and I have a passion for using found objects to make unique jewelry. I love metal and teach metal etching.

I have been teaching for many years throughout Australia and the USA and I have been published in several US Magazines, which include Somerset Studio, and Belle Armoire Jewelry. I also have been published in several Australian magazines, and been a featured artist in several books .I have filmed 4 DVD using different technique’s.

The passion for what I do comes out in my workshops. They are usually packed full of laughs with beautiful projects finished at the end.

Class Description:

In this unique workshop, Jen will take you in to the world of casting.

You will learn how Jen makes these one of kind antique resin casts book covers. Also we will be using a fast setting resin, which is just out of this world.

You will learn a new binding technique out of metal antique binding which hides all those binding threads, to give a truly beautiful finish showing the beautiful metal strapping.

The fun part we get to book bind or stitch and bitch! I guarantee this is a awesome fun class.

Student Supply List:

Cutting mat (self healing)

Water colour paper pad &/Or Assorted pattern paper if you want that in your book

Awl

Flat Nose Jewerly Pliers (see picture below)

Tin snips non-serrated (limited supply available at the shop)

Sharpie fine liner

Rawhide hammer or a small rubber mallet (limited supply available at the shop)

Small hole punch 1.8mm euro punch ( teacher can order these if you let Cindy know when you book )

Baby wipes

Bastard File (Home Depot - see picture below)
