Driving Directions 

 

Technicians will learn the ins and outs of handling emergent surgical cases from triage to discharge. Discussions on the following topics will be given:

Emergency: How to effectively triage, assess status, and work-up the presenting emergency patient.
 
Anesthesia: Evaluating bloodwork for selecting an anesthetic protocol, peri-operative concerns, and recovery. 
Considerations for technicians involved in nursing care for the following cases; GDV, hemoabdomen, foreign
body obstruction, dystocia, laryngeal paralysis, and urinary obstruction.
