Register for the First Annual Cub Scouts Skills Day at McGuire Nuclear Station's EnergyExplorium 

 

The EnergyExplorium is hosting its first-ever cub scout skills day on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 9 to 11 a.m. Online registration is required and will be open to the first 200 cub scouts who register. This event is open any new family who joins scouting in the following areas:

  • Heartland District - Lincoln County (Vale, Lincolnton and/or Denver
  • Northern Gaston County - Cherryville, Stanley and/or Mt. Holly

Eight stations, each with different skills will be open for new scouts and their families. These stations include: BB-Guns, archery, space derby, learning the Scout Oath, law, handshake and sign, an introduction to scouting video and an interactive walk-through of the EnergyExplorium and its indoor exhibits.

Here are a few things to keep in mind before registering:

  • One adult can register up to two scouts.
  • Please be sure to arrive to the EnergyExplorium at 8:30 a.m. to confirm your attendance the day of the event. 
  • The event will start promptly at 9 a.m. with an opening flag ceremony.
  • The event will be canceled in the event of heavy rain. We will still hold the event if there is a light drizzle.
  • The majority of the event will be held outside on the lawn. Please dress accordingly.
  • An adult (legal guardian or parent) is required to attend with their scout(s).
  • Feel free to bring  snacks or drinks. Food or drink will not be available for purchase. Water is strongly recommended.
  • Registration will close automatically once the 200 cub scout limit has been reached. If there are any concerns about this limit, please do not contact the EnergyExplorium.
