About the Weavers Guild of Minnesota

Since its founding in 1940 by six women, including Hilma Berglund, the Weavers Guild of Minnesota (WGM) has established itself as a nationally-recognized resource for the arts of weaving, spinning, and dyeing. WGM offers classes and events year round, serving nearly 700 new and experienced fiber artists each year. It was the catalyst in the formation of the Textile Center, where WGM currently maintains classroom, retail, and library space

Brown Bag Lunch with Susie Taylor!
September 10, 2018 | 12-1pm

Bring your lunch and meet artist Susie Taylor! This Textile Center 2018 Guest Teaching Artist received the HGA Certificate of Excellence in Handweaving in 2012, and over the last 30 years her work has been showcased in museums around the world. She will walk us through the evolution of her art and weaving practices, and give us some insight into the processes she uses to create weaving origami. After her presentation, there will be time for questions and discussion, and we will then take a tour of Susie's solo exhibition, Poetic Geometry, in Textile Center's Studio and Community Galleries.

When: Monday, September 10, at 12pm; doors open at 11:30am

Where: Textile Center Auditorium, followed by a tour of the main gallery space
