Talent Conversations and Succession Planning

Strategies and outcomes for HR Professionals to take the lead in identifying talent.  Learners will discuss strategies for engaging executive leaders in Talent Conversations resulting in a strong and diverse internal talent pipeline.

 Attendees will learn how to:

  • Communicate the connection between proactive talent practices and business results
  • Mitigate the risk of loss of future leaders
  • Engage HIPO leaders

Presenter: Dennis began his career in Human Resources/Learning & Development in 2000 with Erickson Retirement Communities in Baltimore, MD after 10 years in Health Care management positions with the same company.  He joined The Charmer Sunbelt Group in 2005 as Director, Organizational Development & Change Management.  In 2010, he was promoted to Vice President, Learning & Development.  In 2016, he assumed the role of Vice President and Chief Learning Officer for Breakthru Beverage.  Over the past several years Dennis has been a featured speaker for the Society for Human Resource Management Long Island Chapter, Inc. (SHRM-LI), a panelist on sales coaching for the Corporate Executive Board (CEB) and interviewed on the subjects of Organizational Learning and Empathy by Training & Development magazine and the Wall Street Journal.    Dennis received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Maryland and a Master’s Degree from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.   He holds certifications to assess and coach leaders with the several psychometric tools including the Myers Briggs Personality Type Indicator, Emotional Intelligence Assessments, Learning Agility, and the Change Style Indicator.  In addition, he is a Master Trainer with both Development Dimensions International and the Association for Talent Development.
