The mind-training practices contained in the Dzogchen tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. The seven mind trainings in this course will cover impermanence, karma, suering and compassion, the teacher, meditation, negativity and wisdom. The important point is that if we train our mind on the path of profound teachings, our mind will become free from emotional turmoil, habitual patterns and karmic bondage and will awaken us to our own innate wisdom. We will use Jigme Lingpa’s text, Steps to the Path of Great Perfection

Cost:  Sliding Scale $180-240.  Please make a payment in accord with your means.

Students will bring a lunch or order from a local resturant.  Overnight accommodations available upon request.

Namchak Khen Rinpoche (Ngawang Gelek), is the Abbot of the Garden of One Thousand Buddhas.  Khen Rinpoche is the brother and spiritual heir of Tulku Sang-ngag Rinpoche, the founder of The Garden of One Thousand Buddhas.  As a young monk, Khen Rinpoche studied all aspects of Buddhism, including ritual arts and chanting. Khen Rinpoche traveled to Mysore, India where he had the good fortune to meet His Holiness, Penor Rinpoche and begin studying at His Holiness’s Nyingma College, Namdrol Ling Shedra. He graduated after nine years as a Do-Ngag Rabjampa, Master of Sutra and Tantra, the highest academic degree.

Namchak Khen Rinpoche spends his time in Nepal and as resident Abbot at Ewam Sang-ngag Ling in Arlee, MT. During his months at the Garden of One Thousand Buddhas, Khenpo teaches extensiveley and gives weekly interpretive tours every Saturday during the warmer months.  For more information on Khen Rinpoche's teaching schedule, visit ewam.org.
