Cryptocurrency and blockchain are hot topics in the news, but what are they? Why are some people excited and others talking about high risk? When I buy or sell cryptocurrency, what do I have to report? How will the IRS know what I am doing? This presentation is for those who just want to understand the topics and those who have purchased cryptocurrency and now have tax consequences. The MIT BitCoin Club will explain the basics of cryptocurrency and blockchain. Then the Massachusetts Society of Enrolled Agents will explain the tax implications of trading and using cryptocurrency.
