Rescuing Yourself from Codependency

 

Free To Be Me: Rescuing Yourself From Codependency is a 4-Day Therapy Intensive Workshop, offered at Santé Center For Healing, that utilizes Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), to work with individuals who are struggling in their personal and/or professional relationships.  Codependence is often defined as investing and focusing one’s time and energy into everything and everyone else.  However, simply defined, codependence is a lack of a relationship with oneself.  Important topics of focus during the 4-Day workshop include: education on the family system, defense mechanisms, shame, the drama triangle, boundaries, power and powerlessness, connection, breaking free from the drama triangle, self-care and learning how to free yourself from codependent behavior and dysfunctional relationship patterns.

Goals of Intensive

  • Learn how to create healthy interdependent relationships.
  • Learn how to establish boundaries and enforce them in a healthy and respectful way.
  • Improve self-esteem and learn about the importance of self-compassion.
  • Experience new ways of communicating in personal and professional relationships.
  • Change patterns of thought to inspire new growth and deeper intimacy.

 

What happens in the 4-Day Intensives?

  • Education on the dysfunctional family system.
  • Education on guilt versus shame.
  • Individuals learn to address patterns of problematic thinking and behaving.
  • Individuals learn new coping skills in order to challenge themselves when necessary.
  • Individuals learn the importance of loving and making themselves a priority.
  • Learning the importance of self-care through Interactive Clay Therapy
  • Learning how to emotionally regulate through a session of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Learning how to set boundaries and understand connection through a session of Equine Therapy

 

Who can participate?

  • Traditional psychotherapy treatment has stalled.
  • Able to participate in a group setting.
  • Have a hard time saying “no,” setting boundaries and often feeling guilty when they do.
  • Are workaholics and/or perfectionists.
  • Often feel resentful when their accomplishments/help goes unrecognized.
  • Not actively having thoughts of suicide, self-harming, harming others, or abusing alcohol/drugs.
