Supporting Indigenous Student Success in the Skilled Trades

Career exploration & trades exposure programs for Indigenous youth exist across the country, but the opportunities for sharing effective approaches and models are limited often implemented in isolation. This event will provide educators, Indigenous organizations and policymakers the opportunity to learn about programs supporting Indigenous student engagement & career advancement.  Participants will share their ideas about what we can do to help Indigenous youth transition to apprenticeships,

Join us to:

  • Learn about career awareness and trades training programs for Indigenous youth
  • Gain new insights from industry and Indigenous training organizations who will share promising practices
  • Listen to Indigenous apprentices and journeypersons share their career journeys
  • Share ideas and network with others

Take away practical ideas to support the inclusion and success of Indigenous students interested in skilled trades careers.
