Artist-Engaged Creative Placemaking as a Strategy for Authentic Community Development

Join MAPC and Springboard for the Arts for this exciting workshop exploring the nuts and bolts of creative placemaking as an approach to creative community development.

We will cover practical tools and strategies for working with local artists in creative placemaking and community engagement to address your community’s challenges and opportunities.

Learn about examples and models from Boston, Massachusetts, and from other regions in the United States and learn steps to create projects based on your local assets and context. You will conclude the workshop with your own plan of action!

Offered by the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) in partnership with Springboard for the Arts
Cosponsored by the Mel King Institute for Community Building, MASSCreative, New England Foundation for the Arts, the Department of Housing and Community Development MA Downtown Initiative, and the Design Studio for Social Intervention.
